Reminders
Reminders help your workshop keep future action visible. They can be linked to customers, vehicles, or both, depending on the follow-up.
Reminder types
Use service reminders for planned maintenance, tax reminders for road tax, insurance reminders for policy dates, NCT reminders for test due dates, follow-up reminders for customer contact, and custom reminders for anything specific to your operation.
Why reminders matter
Missed follow-up is lost revenue and poor customer experience. Reminders give the team a shared list of upcoming and overdue actions.
How to use reminders
Create a reminder with a clear type, due date, and short note. If it belongs to a vehicle, link it to that vehicle. If it is customer-only, link it to the customer. Review due and overdue reminders from the dashboard or reminders page.
Best practices
- Keep notes action-focused.
- Avoid duplicate reminders for the same due date.
- Close, reschedule, or update reminders after contact.
- Use custom reminders for workshop-specific processes, not as a replacement for standard types.
- Check reminders before customer calls so you can combine follow-up where appropriate.
Common mistakes
- Creating reminders without due dates.
- Using follow-up for everything instead of choosing the proper type.
- Leaving completed reminders open.
